Common furniture beetle – Anobium Punctatum

It has a cylindrical shape, is 2.5-6 mm long, of reddish color with fine short yellow hair. It spends its entire life inside the wood. Its life cycle is 2-4 years and adults live for 20-25 days. It infects furniture of any wood in conditions with relatively high humidity and temperature. Its presence is detected by small piles of dust (powder) in the wood.

House longhorn beetle – Hylotrupes Bajulus

It is 5-12 mm long, has long antennas, gray-black color, strong jaws and its body is covered with gray-yellow hair. Its life cycle is from 3 to 15 years. The adults appear from May to August and live 7-21 days. It attacks softwood used in dwellings ( floorboards, roof timber).

The exit holes of adults are large and oval.

Xestobium Rufovillosum

It is 5-7 mm long and has red-brown color with patterns of grayish-yellow hair. Its life cycle is from 1 to 10 years. It does not fly, but can spread in a relatively short time. It is found in hardwoods (willow , oak, etc.) and wood infected by wood-eating fungi.
It appears from April to July.

Lyctus Brunneus

It is 3-7 mm long, with reddish-brown color. The larval life cycle spans from 2 to 18 months. It is very destructive, but is limited to hardwoods with large pores. It leaves fine and yellow sawdust with exit holes the size of a pinhead. It appears in the summer and is found in furniture, floors, frames, etc.
